Are You REALLY An Entrepreneur?

Last issue, I mentioned the great blog by one of my students, Mark McClean.

http://myebayadventure.blogspot.com

Mark masterfully expresses the successful mindset of an entrepreneur. He is someone who "gets" it.

What I've been most intrigued and focused on since week 1 of her course goes deeper than ebay information. I want Sydney's "entrepreneurial spirit". Sydney's business acumen is "on display" each week and why I'm so glad I invested in her "live" course.

You see Sydney believes in following the narrow center path to success. She knows it's the least traveled and most difficult to follow, one few others will make the sacrifices necessary to finish and Sydney likes it that way. On this road Sydney has plenty of room to exercise all her innate business muscles to their fullest and it shows.

During classes Sydney discusses differences between “easy paths” most look for and the less traveled difficult paths where success waits for those willing to pay the price. The path she treads is a path only winners stay on, where heart and soul matter more than intelligence, knowledge and even experience.

Do I recommend "The Auction Genius Live Course"? I do, but only if you’re willing to move yourself off the sidelines, get serious “as a heart attack” and pursue your dream on the difficult narrow center path where you'll find Entrepreneurial Champions like Sydney Johnston.

If you understand what Mark is talking about and understand that it takes time, effort and discipline to build an Bay business, then you are most welcome in our elite group.

Our next live Auction Genius Course begins March 11 and we've added a great new feature available to all members: a permanent Information Center, to include tons of bonuses and frequent updates. All our students will have permanent access to this treasure trove of information and goodies.

Eureka! FREE, High Quality eBay Research

A year or so ago, eBay published data about their membership and success rate. They claimed:

* 141 million registered users (now 181 million)
* 430,000 sellers making a living from eBay

The buzz about the 430,000 successful sellers was ecstatic! Millions of would-be eBay success stories fantasized joining this group, reasoning “If they can do it, so can I!”

My reaction was the exact opposite ... I was appalled!

* Do you realize that's approximately 1/3 of 1% or .003 ? With eBay the #1 best known home biz opportunity in the world, how can the success stories be so few?

* In addition, those numbers are doubtless from eBay's list of Powersellers and one thing we can be sure is – just because someone is selling $10,000/month (example) doesn't mean they're making anywhere near that kind of profit.

* eBay never did define their term “full time living”. How much money is that, exactly?

There are a lot of conclusions we can draw from this, but the one that hits us right in the face is that most folks don't have a clue about what they're doing. They seem to just sail out onto the eBay marketplace, hoping that somehow they're going to be one of the lucky ones. Sad to say, it usually doesn't happen that way.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is that many people don't truly understand market research and don't bother with it or don't know how to do it. Here is a partial listing of what you need to know:

+ What keywords to use

+ The time of day to end your auction

+ Best day of the week to end your auction

+ The best listing category

+ Average starting price

+ Whether it pays to use extra-cost features like Gallery, Bold, Featured Plus, Gallery Featured, Gift Listing

+ Average Sale Price
+ Highest Sale Price
+ Lowest Sale Price

+ The most profitable listing duration --> 3 days, 5 days, 7 days, 10 days

How would you like to get this information for FREE? I think the folks running this site must be nuts, because I have paid for information like this but they're giving it away. I don't understand it, but I am happy to take advantage of their generosity and you should be too.

You have to register to use this awesome service, but registration doesn't cost you a penny. Jump on this right now while you can. It's one of the best deals I've ever seen in the auction business.

Who Is The Greatest Internet Marketer?

That's definitely a loaded question because no one is good at everything. I'm terrific with auctions but only so-so with Pay Per Clicks, for instance. So it is with all of the best marketers. But if I had to pick the best all round marketer, the one who has mastered the most skills and has a thoroughly sane approach, Ken McCarthy would definitely at the top of my list.

You may not know Ken because he's not a marketer who caters to the mass audiences. He doesn't have $20 ebooks and punch out 10 emails every week. Instead, he's the “guru's guru” and some of his students are incredibly well known, like Yanik Silver, Perry Marshall, Marlon Sanders, Jonathan Mizel and Armand Morin. He's like the old E. F. Hutton commercial ... when Ken McCarthy speaks, wise people listen.

I have the distinct honor or being interviewed by Ken tomorrow, Thursday, March 2, at 6:30 PM Eastern time. There is no cost for this call but you need to sign up in advance to listen in. Use the number below because it's my number and, since I'm one of the speakers, you will have a priority spot in case it's too full. And it will be!

Selling Pink Toasters on eBay?

Recently, in my blog I've been talking about products that sell well on eBay. They range from Burberry jackets, purses and scarves, the Pampered Chef, Sony electronics, Vitamix blenders and yes, pink toasters. I admit to being astonished by the last one. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a pink toaster. Need to have just the right kitchen to want one of those.

A Famous Brain Teaser

Count every "F" in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS

Now...how many did you count?

Three? Nice try, but nope. Read it again.

According to the e-mail I received, the brain doesn't naturally process the F in the word OF. Most people count three Fs on the first pass, some count four, but to catch all six is apparently rare.
